TRENTON — The SPCA of Hancock County’s presents its 5th Annual Wine & Whiskers fundraiser Tuesday, July 24, at the Asticou Inn in Northeast Harbor beginning at 6 p.m.

Tickets are $125 per person $62.50 of which is tax deductible. Reservations are required. The celebration will be held under the tent on the Asticou lawn overlooking the picturesque harbor with hearty hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, dessert and live music by the Blake Rosso Band.

The evening will also include silent and live auctions with Andrew Simon of the Barn Arts Collective serving as auctioneer. Among the auction items are a whimsical seal sculpture by local artist Dan Falt, Dooney & Bourke handbags, jewelry designed by Lisa Hall, a pasta-making lesson in your home by Blue Hill chef and caterer Diana Bianco and a week’s stay at an ocean view apartment on the French Riviera.

Wine & Whiskers is the SPCA’s largest fundraiser of the year and all of the proceeds directly support the nonprofit organization’s animal shelter in Trenton. The funds help pay for food and medical treatment for the surrendered, abandoned and stray dogs and cats in the SPCA’s care.

“This is such a fun event that supports an amazing and important cause,” said event chairperson Mary Anne Griffin. “The SPCA receives no municipal, state or federal funding and the majority of funds we need to keep the doors of our shelter open come from Wine & Whiskers.”
