Paintings by Keri Kimura of Southwest Harbor will be on display from Aug. 23 to Sept. 6 at Swallowfield in Northeast Harbor.
Kimura is a visual artist living in Southwest Harbor. She studied painting at Smith College, the Glasgow School of Art and the New York Studio School. Her recent paintings are inspired by quilt patterns, the Maine landscape and the movement of water. Her works communicate beauty and chaos, and play with recognizable but ambiguous forms in vibrant colors and patterns reminiscent of the natural world.
