BAR HARBOR — The season is over for the Mount Desert Island High School varsity girls’ soccer team, which fell to Presque Isle High School 4-0 on Saturday in the preliminary round of the Class B playoffs.

The Trojans ended the regular season with a record of 3-7.

It was a scoreless first half for the 12th-seeded Trojans and the 5th-seeded Wildcats.

In the second half, Presque Isle’s Madison Michaud scored three goals. Tori Koch added another goal, with McKenzie Turner, Charlotte Carrier and Molly Kingsbury each notching an assist.

Wildcats keeper Savannah Rodriguez made four saves on five shots, while MDI’s Cassia Barnes made 12 saves on 20 shots.

“I thought we did a good job in the first half shutting down Madison Michaud’s services and looks at the goal thanks to our defense,” said Head Coach May Dow.

The coach complimented MDI’s Saige Goodwin for adding a spark to the game as she has all season, noting that half of the goals this season belong to her.

“I am sad the season is over and obviously would still love to be playing soccer, but the girls continued to battle every game, and I’m proud of them for that,” said Dow.
