SUMMERTIME TREAT … A group of young visitors enjoys root beers and blueberry sodas outside Hannaford in Bar Harbor. They live in Cedar City, Utah, one of the adults in the group explained. “We’ve never heard of Old Soakers!” The kids gave the soda high marks, especially after their hike across the sand bar on a warm July afternoon. SPRUCED UP … A million-dollar-plus renovation of the Bar Harbor branch of First National Bank was recently completed. Celebrating at a Chamber of Commerce event last week were, from left, Connie Russell of the bank’s Board of Directors, bank President and CEO Tony McKim and board member Mark Rosborough. The bank was chartered in 1888 and the building at 102 Main Street was completed in 1909.
