MOUNT DESERT — Ten area business owners will compete for $10,000 in prize money at the second annual Mount Desert Business Boot Camp and Pitch Competition this Sunday, March 10, at 4 p.m. at Neighborhood House in Northeast Harbor.
The 10 will have just completed a three-day “boot camp” of business skills development sessions led by Jay Friedlander, professor of sustainable business at College of the Atlantic.
At Sunday’s public event, each of the 10 entrepreneurs will pitch their big idea for growing their business. The winner will be chosen by a vote of the audience.
Last year’s winner was Katelyn Moore, owner of the Fork+Table restaurant in Northeast Harbor.
The Business Boot Camp and Pitch Competition is sponsored by Mount Desert 365, the non-profit that is working to boost the community’s economic vitality, and the Mount Desert Chamber of Commerce, with support from Bar Harbor Bank & Trust.
