Boys fall to Oceanside

The MDI boys’ team lost for the second time this season Saturday when it fell to a 50-48 defeat to Oceanside in Rockland.

The Trojans (6-2) led by seven at halftime before Oceanside outscored them 16-8 in the third quarter. Despite 15 points from MDI in the fourth, the Mariners (7-2) held on to earn the victory.

Drew Shea was the leading scorer for MDI with 14 points. The Trojans’ other scorers were Brett Duley with nine points, Derek Collin with eight points, Eli Parady with seven, Porter Isaacs with five, Cadin Lunt with three and Steven Pierce with two.

MDI’s next game will be at home against Ellsworth (6-3) at 7 p.m. today, Jan. 10. The Trojans will begin the second half of the regular season at home Tuesday, Jan. 15, when they host Orono at that same time.
