YMCA Sharks recognized

BAR HARBOR — The Sharks swim team of the Mount Desert Island YMCA held its annual banquet at MDI High School on Wednesday, April 25, to celebrate a successful winter season.

Lydia DaCorte, Liam Sullivan, Lily James and Tyler Willis were honored for setting records. Sullivan and DaCorte also participated in the YMCA National Championships in Greensboro, N.C.

James and Gracie Parker represented the Maine All-Star team at the Eastern Zone meet in Webster, N.Y.

At the banquet, new team record and relay record holders were recognized, as were outstanding and most improved swimmers in each age group. Awards went to those who gathered the most pledges or raised the most money for the program in the Aquathon fundraising event. Bryce DiMauro, Kirstin DiMauro and Pierce DiMauro were the recipients of this year’s Coach’s Award.
