The MDI girls also topped the JV race, followed by Orono and Caribou.

Sofie Dowling came in first place in the JV division in 23:18.15, followed by third-place finisher Erin White in 23:23.88 and fourth-place finisher Lilly Cook in 23:45.23.

The JV boys did not place as a team, but ran a competitive race.

Chase McGee finished first for MDI and seventh overall in 20:02.50, and Reilly Linkel finished second for the Trojans and 13th overall with a time of 21:04.10.

“This was the end for the JV season, and I was really happy that they could take everything they’ve been working on this season and putting it altogether,” said Head Coach Desiree Sirois.

The varsity team is gearing up this week for the regionals in Belfast on Saturday, Oct. 22.

“It’s time to work together with what we’ve learned throughout the season to plan the race in advance,” she said. “The team needs to take ownership of their season and keep the fire burning.”
