Trojan baseball falls to Eagles

BAR HARBOR – The Mount Desert Island High School varsity baseball team fell to Ellsworth 6-2 Wednesday in their last regular season game.

Dylan Collin pitched three innings for MDI. Thomas Paola took over in the fourth and struck out 5, including a key strikeout in the top of the seventh with two outs and runners on first and third.

The Trojans led 1-0 in the first inning after Jack Sasner singled, stole second, advanced on a Nick Stanley bunt and scored on a passed ball. Ellsworth answered with two runs in the second including a home run from Mitch Domagala. Four unearned runs in the third gave the Eagles a 6-1 lead.

Ezra Johnson doubled to knock in Dylan Collin in the bottom of the seventh for a final score of 6-2.
