Tardy wins High School mile race in Cape Elizabeth



GOING FOR GOLD… Olympic gold medalist Joan Benoit Samuelson presents Tia Tardy with a medal after Tardy won the first High School Mile race. The race was held on the eve of the annual TD Beach to Beacon 10K in Cape Elizabeth last Friday. Tardy, who is slated to attend Mount Desert Island High School in the fall, won the girls’ division with a mile time of 5:32:31. She holds two state records and 10 state titles in several track events.
