Swim honors



BAR HARBOR — Mount Desert Island High School swimmers Liam Sullivan and Tyler Woodworth were both selected to the All-State boys’ team at the Maine Interscholastic Swim League awards banquet Sunday evening in Augusta.

Sullivan was chosen for the 200-yard medley and 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays and 100-yard breaststroke, and Woodworth was chosen in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

The two All-State swimmers were also part of 200 and 400 relay teams that received Penobscot Valley All-Star selections, and they also received individual honors (Sullivan in the 100-yard butterfly and 500-yard freestyle; Woodworth in the 100- and 200-yard freestyles). Isaac Weaver (100-yard breaststroke) and Tyler Willis (500 freestyle) were the other MDI boys’ swimmers to take home individual honors.

For the MDI girls, the 400 freestyle relay team of Maria Saltysiak, Adria Horton, Addy Smith and Ruby Brown was chosen to the PVC All-Star team. Horton was named to the team individually in the 500 freestyle.
