State XC meet is Saturday

BELFAST — Mount Desert Island High School cross-country will compete in the state championships Saturday at Troy Howard Middle School here.

The top five girls’ teams and the top eight boys’ teams from the regional championships last weekend advanced to the states. The Trojan girls will face top Class B teams from Camden Hills Regional High School, Caribou High School, Ellsworth High School and Waterville High School, as well as dozens of other teams throughout the state. The MDI boys are up against Caribou, John Bapst, Erskine Academy, Camden Hills, Waterville, Ellsworth and Presque Isle High School, as well as other teams from across the state.

The boys’ race begins at 1 p.m., and the girls’ race is at 1:35 p.m.
