After getting off to a slow start and losing a first game squeaker, the Mount Desert Island Trojans swept the next three to down the Calais Blue Devils on Saturday in Calais.
“The girls lost a tough first game 28-26, but soon found their rhythm, winnng the next three by scores of 25-16, 25-15 and 25-13,” said MDI coach Cory Papadopoli.
“They worked well together on the court, communicating and moving quickly to the ball.”
For MDI, Sarah Phelps had a big game with 18 kills, 6 aces, 7 assists, 2 digs and 1 block.
Madeline Cook added 10 kills, 11 aces, 18 assists and 2 digs; Camilla Tai had 2 aces, 10 digs and an assist; and Deandra Kanu had 1 kills, 3 aces, 4 digs and a block for the Trojans.
