Track meet help wanted

BAR HARBOR — The Mount Desert Island track team is looking for officials and workers to assist with its final track and field meet.

MDI will be hosting a six-team meet Saturday, May 15. Competitions are scheduled to begin at noon, though those working the meet may be asked to arrive early for meet preparation and other responsibilities.

Officials and workers will be assigned tasks such as marking throws, resetting poles following jumping events, measuring distances and raking sandpits. No experience is necessary to assist with events.

Volunteers are appreciated for the meet, but MDI pays all officials and workers. Students interested in assisting with the meet may also earn community service hours for doing so.

For more information or to sign up, contact MDI High School Dean of Students Ian Braun by email at [email protected] or by phone at 288-5011 x3350.
