MDI hosted Bucksport in a preseason game on Sept. 3, and won 9-0.

In what proved to be a defensive battle, Megan Hawes scored on an assist from Bayley Bryant with seven minutes to go, lifting the Hermon Hawks to a 1-0 win over the Mount Desert Island Trojans on Saturday in Bar Harbor.

Hannah Shaw had seven saves on eight shots in goal for the Trojans, and Amanda Allen made two stops in the win for the Hawks.

The Trojans evened their record at 1-1 on Tuesday with a 2-0 shutout of the Old Town Coyotes at Husson University in Bangor.

Both MDI goals came late in the game with Julia Mace scoring off an Opal Curless corner kick with under seven minutes left and Curless adding an insurance goal with just six seconds to go.

Shaw had two saves in goal for the Trojans and Nicole Robichaud made nine stops for the Coyotes.
