HAMPDEN— The Trojan unified basketball team played their first game of the season against last year’s champions, Hampden Academy, and fell 55-36 on Thursday, Jan. 28.

Faith Mitchell and Cameron Swan led MDI with six points each. Isaac Philbrook, Casey Roberts, Jacob Fallica and Nellie Page contributed four points each, and Peter Philbrook added two for the Trojans.

The inaugural basketball team played their first home game on Monday, Feb. 1, and despite a strong fight, fell 48-45 to Brewer High School.

MDI was led in scoring by Fallica with 12 points, and Swan chipped in 10.

Mitchell and Page each had six, while Casey Roberts had four. The Trojan team is set to take on Oceanside High School in Bar Harbor on Monday, Feb. 8, at 4 p.m.
