The Harlem Ambassadors will bring their brand of comedy basketball to Mount Desert Island High School on Saturday, April 5, at 6 p.m.
The Ambassadors will face off against Island Talent, a team of local teachers, coaches and a few surprises, as they highlight their high-flying slam dunks, dazzling ball-handling, comedy routines, music, dancing and games for kids.
“At our shows, we want the kids to know that they’re part of our team, too,” said Ambassador coach Lade Majic. “We invite as many kids as we can to come sit on the bench, have a front row seat during the show and get involved in all of the fun stuff we do.”
The Ambassadors have played more than 2,400 comedy basketball games at fundraising and community entertainment events for nonprofit organizations, the U.S. military and community service organizations since 1998, raising more than $9 million in 50 states and 20 countries.
Tickets are on sale at Harbor House Community Center in Southwest Harbor. For more information, contact Diana@harborhousemdi.org or call 244-3713.
The event is being sponsored by the Bar Harbor Inn/Witham Family Properties, Side Street Café and W.S. Emerson.
