BAR HARBOR — After serving for more than 15 years on the board of directors of Acadian Youth Sports (AYS), John Doyle retired at the organization’s board meeting this past week. Leagues under the AYS umbrella include the Acadian Little League, which saw considerable involvement from Doyle. He umpired, kept score and even served as an official at Marty Lyons Baseball Classic tournaments.
“John [Doyle] has always been a community leader in youth sports,” said Tony McKim, president of AYS.
According to AYS Executive Director Kyle McKim, “All youth sports organizations on the island have been influenced by John [Doyle]. I know the Little League wouldn’t have been the same without his help. I would like to wholeheartedly thank him.”
