Hermon 5 – MDI 4

MDI’s win over Washington Academy came a day after the Trojans put forth a valiant effort in a 5-4 loss at home against third-place Hermon. The Trojans carried a 4-3 lead into the seventh inning before the Hawks plated a pair of runs and closed out the win.

McEachern recorded eight strikeouts and three walks in the loss while allowing three earned runs. The loss left the senior captain 1-3 on the season with 2.33 ERA.

McEachern also led the way for MDI at the plate with three hits and an RBI. The Trojans also got two hits apiece from Cook and Hannah Hanscom and one from Olivia Gray to total eight on the evening.

The Trojans’ game against Old Town (4-2) on Tuesday was pushed back to Wednesday. MDI has upcoming games on the road against Washington Academy and Ellsworth at noon Saturday, May 11, and 4:30 p.m. Monday, May 13, respectively, before hosting Belfast at 4:30 Tuesday, May 14.
