Pooler named head coach



BAR HARBOR — Andy Pooler last week was named head coach of the Mount Desert Island High School varsity baseball team.

The Mount Desert Island High School alum played on the team all four years and helped the Trojans win the 2005 Eastern Maine Championship his senior year. Pooler went on to play baseball at St. Joseph’s College and has been a volunteer assistant for MDI High School baseball since 2009.

Pooler has been the Ellsworth High School varsity girls’ basketball coach since 2011. He is an associate broker with the Swan Agency and lives in Trenton with his wife, Amy, and two children, Brayden, 5, and Bella, 19 months.
