MDI Trojans sailing team places third in Pen Bay Series 

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — The Mount Desert Island High School Sailing Team hosted the third and final regatta of the Pen Bay Series on Saturday, May 7. Seven school teams raced at MDI Community Sailing Center in Southwest Harbor. The schools represented were MDI, Camden, Lincoln, Isleboro, Rockland and Boothbay Harbor. 

The three-race series included two previous regattas, one hosted by Boothbay Harbor on April 9 and the other hosted by Rockland Community Sailing on April 23.  

The final results from combined scores of all three events were: 

First place – Camden, 201points 

Second place – Rockland, 249 points 

Third place – Mount Desert Island, 291 points 

Fourth place – Lincoln, 292 points 

Fifth place – Isleboro, 345 points 

Sixth place – Boothbay, 429 points 

Seventh place – GSA (only competed in one event) 

The final regatta of the season is The Great Harbor Regatta, which will be held at MDI Community Sailing Center on Saturday, May 28.
