MDI softball falls to Ellsworth

BAR HARBOR – Ellsworth’s Mariah Brown pitched a complete game 10-6 softball victory to close the regular season at Mount Desert Island High School Wednesday. MDI had 6 runs on 9 hits in the game to Ellsworth’s 10 runs on 11 hits.

The Eagles had a 3-2 lead after three innings, extended it to 7-2 in the fourth and 10-2 in the top of the sixth. MDI added one in the sixth, bringing the score to 10-3, and rallied for three runs in the seventh for a final score of 10-6.

Aubrie Boyce pitched three innings and an out for MDI and Haley Littlefield was the closer. Riley Mooers took over from Littlefield as catcher. Cassidy Parady had two hits and two runs, Molly Carroll had a two-RBI single in the bottom of the seventh and Littlefield had two hits and a run.
