BAR HARBOR — On Wednesday, Aug. 1, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. the Acadian Football League (AFL) will be holding a free youth football event at Mount Desert Island High School to sharpen up young players’ skills for the coming season.

MDI Trojan varsity football players will work with students on basic football fundamentals and there will be a variety of fun activities to help players learn new skills and improve their football capabilities.

Parents are invited to meet coaches and stay to watch, or jump in and participate.

“The event is intended to bring the MDI Football Family together for a fun evening as we head into the 2018 football season,” coach Mark Arnold said. “It is a great opportunity for those thinking about joining an AFL team this year.”
