GENEVA, N.Y. — Hobart College runner William Fletcher of Southwest Harbor was given the John L. Brown ’32 Award as the most improved on the cross-country team at an awards dinner April 23.

Last year’s Rookie Award for Cross-Country winner, Fletcher ran in all 11 races in the fall. He logged his season best 8K time of 27 minutes, 14.1 seconds at the Geneseo Invitational, crossing the line 94th out of 238 runners. Fletcher earned Liberty League Performer of the Week honors following the Hamilton Invitational on Sept. 9. He traversed the 5K course in 17:09.7. At the CCOC Championships, Fletcher finished ninth with a time of 28:49.0. He was named to the Liberty League All-Academic team.
