ELLSWORTH — Bar Harbor’s Judson Cake claimed first place in the Kinsley Ray Memorial 5K on Saturday at the Down East Family YMCA.

Cake won the race with a time of 16 minutes, 37 seconds at a pace of 5 minutes, 22 seconds per mile. He ran the race wearing his Bar Harbor Police Department T-shirt in solidarity with Kinsley Ray Archer’s father, Brian, a deputy with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department.

Race-day festivities were held in memory in Kinsley Ray, who died Dec. 10 of acute myeloid leukemia. More than 650 walkers and runners competed in the Down East Family YMCA event, which raised more than $11,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
