Line in the sand

To the Editor:

In response to the letter from Pennsylvania in last week’s Islander about the “resist” message on Sand Beach being sour grapes from snowflakes, I say: I saw it as a line in the sand.

Lines crossed by this president make it impossible for me to support him. I am resisting a president who lies all the time, demeans individuals and entire groups of people. Who did not stand up to white supremacy.

I believe we are obligated to think of the future of our peoples and our land, but the president pulled the U.S. out of the Paris climate accord. Affordable health care is a necessity. We all will be poor losers, with the results of gutting the Clean Air and Water acts. Massive deregulation allows ease of selling off our national heritage for private gain, makes it okay to pollute, leaves me wondering what is in the food I buy … why are those grapes sour?

Resisting snowflakes? Rather, sir, a blizzard watch is in the forecast.
