To the Editor:

I find it incredible in this day of technical advances and purported vigilance with regard to airline safety that a crash like the one in France last week is possible.

I find it hard to believe that a man who was known to be under psychiatric care, and likely on mind-altering drugs, and who had observable issues regarding his stability, was allowed by a supposedly reputable airline company to fly as copilot on the regularly scheduled flight filled to capacity with human beings.
