To the Editor:
Kudos to the group – and I know it’s a group because it is way too much work for one or two people to have done alone – who cleared and marked the trail from the Day Mountain parking lot to Lower Day Mountain and Hunter Cliffs. It is a path we walk with guests who are not up to climbing mountains but still want wonderful views. Heretofore, it has been unclear, rough-going with lots of huge trees to climb over and some scrambling through heavy brush.
Now this lovely trail is clear, the fallen trees – some of them quite huge – have been cut. The path has been cleared of underbrush and marked with non-Bates cairns and is really a pleasure.
