Gustatory delights

To the Editor:

In May, 14 students and two teachers traveled to New York to participate in this year’s international flagship Model United Nations conference. Representing Bolivia, students negotiated with other role-playing “delegations” in a simulated U.N. that provided an opportunity for students to research, debate and discuss current global issues. They met other students from around the world, took in a Tony-nominated play, sat in the U.N. General Assembly Hall and got a chance to experience one of the world’s great cities, New York.

All of this would not have been possible without the generosity and aid of this community. Thank you all for watching our talent show, buying our flowers, running our race and simply making donations.

A special thanks must be given to the good people at Red Sky restaurant. They hosted a dinner that was both a gustatory delight and a financial success. Thank you James and Elizabeth, and your crew, for your professionalism, hard work and generosity.

More than a quarter of the overall funds needed for this trip was raised that night. We could not have done it without you!
