To the Editor:
Longtime organist Julia Morris-Myers’ friends at St. Saviour’s Church invite you to attend a special gathering on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 4-6 p.m. in the choir room at St. Saviour’s Church to say goodbye to Bill and Julia Morris-Myers before they move to Maryland.
A second gathering will take place on Sunday, Sept. 13, following the 10 a.m. church service. This will be Julia’s last Sunday as organist and choir director at St. Saviour’s, and although this gathering will be mainly for the St. Saviour’s parishioners and choir, all are welcome to attend on whichever day best fits your schedule.
Please bring a food item or beverages to share at those gatherings.
Monetary gifts can be placed in the collection plate on Sept. 6, specifying “for Julia & Bill.” Checks should be made out to St. Saviour’s Church with “for Julia & Bill” in the memo. Gifts can be sent by mail to Muffet Stewart, St. Saviour’s Parish, 41 Mount Desert St., Bar Harbor, ME 04609.
The gift and cards and personal messages will be given to Julia and Bill at the gathering on Sunday with a card with the names of all contributors.
There will be a box at both gatherings to collect written messages and well-wishes. These will be put into a scrapbook compiled tastefully by Pamela Smith and sent to Julia and Bill after they have settled into their new home.
