To the Editor:
I read the letter in the Feb. 20 Islander from George Sanker pertaining to right whale extinction and am slightly perplexed. First, I am not a lobsterman or have nothing to do with the business but do question Mr. Sanker’s conclusions. He dismisses Maine Lobstermen’s Association analysis of data (this from people who fish and observe our part of the ocean every day) but embraces data from the Sierra Club as accurate and true even though we don’t know where or how they come by their data. I suspect his conclusions may be from a prejudiced perspective.
