Letter to Editor: An island tradition

To the Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people who have reached out to express their disappointment that the Acadia Corporation is leaving the Asticou.

When we began operations at the Asticou in 2015 our goals were to bring the quality and integrity of food and hospitality we had offered for so many years at the Jordan Pond House and to transform the Asticou into a welcoming venue for island residents and summer visitors alike.

I am proud of what we have accomplished over the past five years and truly believe it has been transformative for the Asticou.

Although we will no longer be actively involved in the day to day Asticou operations, we will be actively working to support those who will be charged with carrying on the traditions we have created.

Your support and patronage was overwhelming as we transitioned from our long history at the Jordan Pond House to the Asticou. Thank you for your support and please join me in continuing to patronize the Asticou, as it strives to carry on as an island tradition, in the future.
