To the Editor:
Thank you to all the coastal and island communities of House District 134 for electing me to a fourth term in the Maine House.
While I ran unopposed this year, I did not take your support for granted. It was important to me to do what I’ve always done: go door to door to listen to what you had to say. There was a lot of political division – and yes, it’s pretty bad this year. But when you take a moment to look under the surface, people are still most concerned about the basics: a good job, being able to see the doctor, a warm home in the winter, a future for your kids and a decent retirement.
I will continue pushing my colleagues to help Mainers fight back against our deadly heroin epidemic. I also will keep advocating on behalf of the many islanders in our district. They deserve the same access as mainlanders to the basic services that help families get by.
Finally, I look forward to doing whatever I can to support the marine economy and keep it in good shape for future generations.
You can always reach me at 479-5459 and [email protected]. Again, I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve as your state representative.
