Fond farewell

To the Editor:

Elvis has left the building, well, almost. On July 29, I am officially retiring from Cadillac Family Practice. I want to thank all of you who entrusted me with your care. It has been both an honor and pleasure working with all of you.

I’ve been associated with Mount Desert Island for over 40 years, and I want to thank all previous and present administrations for the respect and courtesy I experienced. I feel honored to have dedicated the major part of my life to this community and institution.

This is a bittersweet moment. As I write this note, the reality of retiring is hitting home with full impact. I’ve cared for three generations of some families and made hundreds of friends. I thank you again for trusting me with your health care.

The good news is my wife and I plus our 165-pound pooch will be heading out, emptying our bucket list as we go. I wish everyone the best life has to offer, and remember, no smoking, exercise daily, drink in moderation, get your vaccinations and love each other as you love yourselves.
