Zane Stacey Gray (Stacey), 64, of Bar Harbor passed away, surrounded by family on June 11, 2021, after a long battle with kidney disease.
He was born on March 15, 1957, to Gordon and Nancy Allen Gray, in Castine.
His first job was at Gottier Farm in Tolland, Conn. He then went on to be a cross-country trucker until he settled in Bar Harbor and became a truck driver/laborer for the Town of Bar Harbor Highway Department. He retired from there after 20 years.
He was an avid gardener and loved to work outside in his yard with his dog, Bella, and was the proud caretaker of his brother-in-law’s property in Trenton. He also loved to spend time in the western mountains of Maine at Webb Lake.
Stacey is survived by his wife, Kimberly Trevett Gray, of Bar Harbor; his son, Justin Gray, granddaughter, Kaya Gray, and grandson, Gavin Gray, of Bar Harbor, ME; stepson Mark Pelletier and his wife, Elise, of Winslow; and stepson Jordan Pelletier and his wife, Ashley, and grandchildren Seth, Peter and Kelly, of Bar Harbor. He is also survived by his mother, Nancy Allen Gray, of Centre Hall, Pa., and siblings Vicki Homan and her husband, Doug, of Centre Hall, Pa., Steven Gray of Trenton and Denice Gray of Bethesda, Md., as well as many, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon.
Celebration of Stacey’s life will be private at a later date.
