Susan B. Lamb



OBIT ISL-LambSOUTHWEST HARBOR — Susan B. Lamb, 91, died July 14, 2015, at MDI Hospital.

She was born Oct. 16, 1923, in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of James Gibson and Anne Hubberd (Bunting) Lamb.

She was a graduate of William and Mary College and received her master’s from Boston University. She taught for 40 years in the following places: Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Pa., and Boston, Mass. She played seven years for the United States lacrosse team and two years for the United States hockey team. She held several National Committee position for the USWLA and UFHA.

She is survived by a brother of Houston, Texas, and two nieces; one grand-niece, and two grand-nephews. In addition she is survived by her companion of 45 years (as of 2005), Barbara Isherwood, who lived with her and traveled exclusively.

A memorial service will be held at noon, Sunday, July 26, 2015, at Somesville Union Meeting House, UCC, Main Street, Mount Desert, with the Rev. Victor Stanley officiating.
