BAR HARBOR — Sue Baer of Bar Harbor passed away on June 7. She was 88. Sue was born in Kansas City, Mo. She and her husband, John S., eventually settled in New Jersey. In the late 1960s, John and Sue relocated to Bar Harbor, where John created Rainwise, and they both briefly owned the former Hilltop House restaurant in Ellsworth.
Sue worked for many years at the Jesup Library. In her free time, she was known for her passion for cooking, traveling and her tireless commitment to the Boston Red Sox.
She leaves behind her children, Joan (Donald) Feeley of Southampton, N.J., and Robert (Shayne) of Medford, N.J. Sue is also survived by her grandchildren, David Kramer of Inverness, Calif., Michael (Brooke) Feeley of Haddon Heights, N.J., and great-grandchildren, Jackson, Michael Jr. and Sean.
Services for Sue will be held privately.
