Steven Kenneth Young

SOUTHWEST HARBOR – Steven Kenneth Young, 44, died unexpectedly Aug. 11, 2016, at his residence. He was born Feb. 1, 1972, in Kittery the son of Richard A. and Wynnee A. (Sullivan) Young.

Steven attended Mount Desert Island High School. He was a lifelong fisherman. He greatly enjoyed NASCAR and gaming. Steven, known to his friends as “Egor,” was a big kid at heart, compassionate and empathic with an infectious laugh. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Wynnee Dow of St. Joseph, Mich.; brother, Richard Young and wife Christin of Stevensville, Mich.; sister, Angela Logan and husband James of Hancock; stepbrothers, George Dow, Jr. and wife Linda of Southwest Harbor and Richard Dow and wife Debra of Bar Harbor. He was predeceased by his father, Richard Young; stepfather, George Dow Sr.; and fiancée, Rachel Wentworth.

A memorial service will be held 4 p.m, Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert with Pastor Bob Maddocks officiating.
