MOUNT DESERT
Stephen W. Cotter, 69, of North Conway, N.H., died Sept. 25, 2018, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, following a brief illness.
Born in Winthrop, Mass., the son of Thomas and Marguerite (Webb) Cotter, he was a self-employed master plumber for over 40 years
Surviving family members include his companion of 30 years, Joan McGrath of North Conway; his sister, Carlene Cotter of Newburyport, Mass.; and his nephew Steven Cotter and his wife, Andrea, of Danvers, Mass.
He was predeceased by both parents, as well as a brother, Tom Cotter; and by dogs he loved, including Chewy and Savage.
Steve enjoyed the 28 summers he spent at Somes Sound, where he worked as a private boat captain. He loved the outdoors, boating, hunting, firearms, dogs and observing wildlife.
Steve was always ready to laugh; he will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
