Stacy Peterson, age 54, passed away in her home on May 16, 2022. She was born on Jan. 2, 1968, in Warwick, R.I.
Stacy graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, where she had majored in ceramics. She worked for many years for the United States Postal Service, including time as the postmaster of Great Cranberry Island.
Stacy was a lifelong New Englander, a talented artist, a fast swimmer (especially in the backstroke) and someone who loved to laugh. She especially enjoyed traveling and her favorite trip was to Kenya, where she went on safari in the Maasai Mara National Preserve.
Stacy is survived by her parents, Paul and Phyllis Peterson, of Benson, Ariz.; her brother, Eric Peterson, and his wife, Allison, of Glastonbury, Conn.; and her sister, Gretchen Peterson, and her husband, Mike Kozachenko, of Bartlett, Tenn. Her extended family include her aunt and uncle, niece and nephew and five cousins.
The family will hold private services for Stacy at a future date.
