Shirley Jones Webster, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away at her home on Sept. 11, 2019. She was born in Valparaiso, Ind., on July 29, 1930. When she was a teenager, her family moved to Bass Harbor, where she met her beloved husband, Rodney. They resided in Claremont, N.H., where they worked together starting a poultry business and then building and selling houses while raising their family. In 1981, they moved to Sun Lakes, Ariz., where she enjoyed swimming, golfing and rock collecting, among other crafting projects. One of her most popular sayings was “Anything for a laugh!” She enjoyed spreading joy and happiness with her smiles and laughter.
She was preceded in death by husband Rodney and son Brian Webster. Shirley is survived by three daughters, Cherie (and Bob) Griffice of Frankston, Texas; Donna Gagnon of Phoenix, Ariz.; Carol (and Scott) Peabody of Merrimack, N.H.; grandchildren Dana Gagnon and wife, Abbie, of Cambridge, Mass., Drake Muckridge, Sydney and Zachary Webster of Phoenix, Ariz., Shannon and Jared Peabody of Merrimack, N.H., Kelsey Peabody of Somerville, Mass., and great-grandson Aiden Webster. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Patsy and Everett Hamlin and George and Wilma Jones of Bass Harbor, Paul and Joyce Jones of Valparaiso, Ind., and Rose Jones of Phoenix, Ariz.
