Robin Barbara Thompson



OBIT-ThompsonBAR HARBOR — Robin Barbara Thompson, 50, of Bar Harbor passed away after a long illness on June 30, 2015, at Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor, with her family by her side. She was born on Oct. 31, 1964, in Rumford, the daughter of Harry and Margaret (Stanley) Bishop.

Robin was a 1983 graduate of Ellsworth High School, and a 1987 graduate of Brooklyn University in Brooklyn, N.Y. After graduating, she worked for the United States Customs Service for 10 years before returning home to Maine to work for Verizon. She married Donald Thompson in 2002 and they had a son, Tristan Emery, in 2003.

Robin will be remembered for loving the outdoors and for having a friendly and outgoing personality. She enjoyed spending her time cooking and later, found a love for crocheting where she made special gifts for family and friends.

Robin was predeceased by her father, Harry, in 2004. Surviving in addition to her husband and son are her mother, Margaret Bishop, of Bar Harbor; a sister, Carrie Bishop of Bar Harbor; a brother, Jason Bishop of Clifton, two nieces, Katie and Ashley of Bangor, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Robin also had an extended family that loved her and will miss her dearly.

Graveside services will be held at the Ledgelawn Cemetery on Saturday, July 11, at 1 p.m., with a reception to follow at Malvern Belmont in Bar Harbor.
