Richard Wayne Stanley, 62, passed away Nov. 26, 2018, at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center with his son Ian at his side.
Richard was an avid fisherman whether fishing for lobster, scallops, halibut or tuna. He will be remembered by many fellow fishermen as one of the best boat mates both as skipper or crew. He also had a passion for hunting deer and turkey.
As of late no longer able to fish or hunt, Richard enjoyed riding around counting the deer he saw and always looking for the big buck. While on these rides he would stop at the docks to check on the fishermen.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, Anna and Malcolm Stanley, his brother, Larry Stanley, and two sisters, Joyce Mahler and Bea Desjardins.
He is survived by his son Ian, his brother John Stanley and wife, Linda, his sisters Lorraine Hitchcock, Nancy Stanley and husband, Sherman, Janet Stanley and partner Gordon, Cookie Baldwin and husband, David Kelley, and many nieces and nephews.
Richard is also survived by his companion of many years Teresa Mitchell.
Richard had many, many friends who loved him and will miss him.
A gathering will be planned for late spring.
