Richard G. Sweares Sr.

OBIT - Richard SwearesBAR HARBOR — Richard G. Sweares Sr., 81, of Bar Harbor, previously from Worcester, Mass., passed away Tuesday Dec. 2, 2014.

He is survived by his children, Deborah Berthiaume of Hancock, Kathleen Coro of Worcester, Mass., Richard G. Sweares Jr. of Cherry Valley, Mass., and Elizabeth Card of Plymouth, Mass. He also had eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was born in Westborough, Mass., son of George and Flora (Temple) Sweares. He owned and operated a commercial cleaning business, Pioneer Cleaning, in Worcester, Mass., for many years. He had also worked as a short order cook in various restaurants. He was an avid Red Sox fan. He enjoyed deep sea fishing and oil painting, one of his paintings having been displayed in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts for six months.

As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Dick was devoted to and would spend many hours out in his ministry. He would talk with everyone that he met about Jehovah’s Kingdom as promised in His word the Bible.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014, at the Ellsworth Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses. Donations may be made in Dick’s name to: Ellsworth Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 84 Christian Ridge Road, Ellsworth, ME 04605.
