ELLSWORTH — Richard Coleman Morse of Ellsworth passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015. He was born April 10, 1931, in Middletown, Conn., son of Amos Clifton Morse and Hazel Viola (Kuhn) Morse. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 32 years, Nancy Mae (Wiechmann) Morse, and a daughter, Sharon Diane Morse. He is survived by two daughters, Susan (Morse) Bibeau and her husband, Roland Bibeau, of Preston, Conn., and Sheryll Morse of Ellsworth, and a son, Gregory Morse and his wife Nancy (Olson) Morse of Middletown, Conn. He is also survived by two brothers, Donald Morse and wife Ruth of Connecticut; George and wife Phyllis of North Carolina, and several nieces and nephews.
Richard was raised in Middletown, Conn., and was employed by International Silver Co. of Meriden, for over 25 years. He retired to Ellsworth at the age of 62, and devoted his life to serving his God Jehovah as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Bar Harbor and Ellsworth. He believed the Bible’s promise of being in God’s memory and the hope of being resurrected to a paradise earth.
In lieu of calling hours, a memorial talk will be held on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at 2 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at 84 Christian Ridge Road, Ellsworth.
