Patrick Carney Jordan

Patrick Carney Jordan, loving husband and proud father of three, passed away on May 3, 2020, in Ellsworth. Patrick was born Dec. 16, 1968, in Ellsworth, the son of Ronald F. Jordan and Ann (Carney) Jordan.

Patrick was born and raised in Ellsworth and graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1987. From a young age, Patrick was an entrepreneur. His first job was selling eggs in his little red wagon on High Street. From there he raked blueberries in the summers, pumped gas for Joe’s Mobil, washed dishes at the Sun Diner and always helped his father with construction. In high school, Patrick made his first big deal and bought an apartment building. This one building turned into many more. He was always making deals and finding gold within the dirt. Patrick had many friends who became business partners. He truly valued these partnerships and many other business friendships.

Patrick worked alongside his father for many years, and then, in 2000, he purchased the company known as R.F. Jordan & Sons Construction Inc. from his parents. Patrick grew this three-man crew into the business that employs 60 people today. He worked with his wife, three children, uncle David W. Carney, cousins Jeff Frost and David (Bub) Carney, his two nephews and his lifelong best friend and right-hand man Buddy Palmer. Patrick’s life revolved around this company. He was proud of the corporation and was also grateful for the numerous employees who helped him build it. Patrick is remembered by his hard work, perseverance and ability to make smart business decisions.

Patrick positively touched the lives of many people with his generosity. He contributed to many local charitable organizations throughout his lifetime. He was a member of many groups including the Anah Shriners, R.O.J., Lygonia Lodge No. 40, Moose Lodge, Ellsworth Elks, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Penobscot Associates, AGC of Maine and the Down East Family YMCA. He was always there to lend a helping hand to those in his community.

Patrick was a devoted husband, father, brother and son. He valued family time and loved to spend it doing sunset cruises on Branch Lake and Beech Hill Pond, winters at Sugarloaf, and trips to Boston and Florida. One of his favorite family trips was to Ireland to see his family heritage. Patrick’s love for his family and pets will be missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rhonda (Dinsmore) Jordan; daughter Bridget Mariene Jordan and fiancé Andrew S. Davis II; twin sons Ronald Asa Jordan, Patrick Orion Jordan and girlfriend Brianna Bires; mother Ann (Carney) Jordan; brother Michael F. Jordan, his wife Linda B.
