Onalee “Bonnie” W. Hopkins, 86, died April 5, 2019, at her home. She was born July 2, 1932, in Bar Harbor, the daughter of Frank and Neva B. (Grindle) Warren.
Bonnie was a beloved wife and wonderful mother with a bright smile for everyone. Bonnie is survived by four sons; Douglas and wife, Janice, of Seal Harbor, Paul and wife, Debbie, of Davie, Fla., Lewis Jr. and Carolyn of Southwest Harbor, Frank and Rebecca of West Tremont; two daughters, Terry McLaughlin and husband, David, of Seal Cove, and Kimberly Hopkins of Hollywood, Fla.; brother Harold “Sonny” Warren of Vinalhaven; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Bonnie was predeceased by her husband, Lewis, son Vaughn, grandson Christopher, four brothers and four sisters. Special thanks to Bonnie’s excellent caregivers, Sharon Gilley and Linda Gleason. Thanks also to the staff at Northern Light Hospice.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert, where a funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 10, 2019. A graveside service will be scheduled for later in the spring.
