BELGRADE — Nathan A. Booker, 80, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born Nov. 19, 1933, in Brewer, the son of Reginald, Sr. and Harriet (Hall) Booker.
Nathan graduated from Brewer High School and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business and Public Management from the University of Maine at Orono. He later earned a Bachelor of Science of Geology from Oregon State University.
After serving in the U.S. Navy, Nathan worked over 20 years as a master electrician. He was past president of the IBEW Union in Bangor. He later was employed in various capacities to include, town manager of Pittsfield, State of Maine energy office, and was a geologist for the state of Oregon. He returned home to work in the family business, Maine Internetworks, “MINT,” and retired in 2001.
Nathan was a lifetime student and had a passion for learning. He enjoyed photography and geology and traveled extensively to pursue his quest for knowledge in many fields.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Eloise; a son, Brian Booker; and two brothers Reginald Booker Jr. and Paul Booker. Surviving are a daughter, Vicki Clewley and husband, Timothy, of Belgrade; sons, Timothy Booker and wife, Cindy, of Skowhegan, Mark Booker of Smithfield, and Paul Booker Sr. and wife, Audrey, of Harmony; stepson, Brian Crawford and wife, Keleen, of Olympia, Wash.; brother, David Lindsey Booker of Watsonville, Calif.; sister, Donna Herweg, of Brewer; and 17 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to recognize and thank Marjorie Monteleon of Southwest Harbor for her dedicated friendship to our Dad and to her family for loving and caring for him.
