Early in the morning of Dec. 5, 2019, Maureen Rita (Foster) Ellerton (b. Oct. 12, 1941) passed away peacefully at her son’s home in Haverhill, Mass. She fought valiantly against lung cancer for the past five years, but eventually succumbed to this terrible disease. Per Maureen’s wishes, there won’t be any services of any kind. If you would like to make a donation in her honor, Maureen suggested:
- Doctors without Borders (www.doctorswithoutborders.org).
- LifeFlight of Maine (www.lifeflightmaine.org).
- Beacon Hospice of Bangor, Maine (locations.amedisys.com/me/bangor/beacon-hospice.html).
Maureen is survived by her friend and partner Earl Raymond, by her sisters Mary (and Pete) and Susan (and Tony) and their families (all still living in England), her son, Dean and his family (Holly, Sarah and Adam), as well as her daughter, Heidi and her family (Vince, Samantha and Maxx). In addition, Maureen’s English side of the family is filled with loving nieces, nephews and their families, as well as lifelong family friends and schoolmates. She was also predeceased by her parents, Harry Till Foster and Glady Annie (Fletcher) Foster, as well as her siblings Donald, Kitty (Abbott), Dennis and Michael. Maureen also fondly remembered and was grateful for her Kinderhook friends and co-workers for the genuine love and support they showed to a new immigrant family when we moved there in 1967. Finally, Maureen was also honored to know and love her Maine friends and neighbors who became like a second family to her over the past 25 years.
