Marjorie Irene Taylor, 86, died Nov. 11, 2019, in Ellsworth. She was born Nov. 4, 1933, in Bar Harbor to Hugh and Ruth B. (McKay) Gilley.
Marjorie and Robert worked and played together throughout their lives. She worked as a cook for the Northeast Harbor Elementary School for 17 years.
She enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved all sports, especially the Red Sox. She was a member of the Union Church of Northeast Harbor.
She is survived by four sons, Richard Taylor of Bar Harbor, Martin Taylor and wife, Maggie, of Trenton, John Taylor and wife, Dawn, of Florida and Lawrence “Larry” Taylor and wife, Lisa, of Trenton; six grandchildren, Jessica, Amanda, Rusty and Robyn Taylor and Emily and Megan Murphy; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Marjorie was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Robert Taylor, and her four sisters, Alice and Helen and half-sisters Mary and Lorraine.
Friends are invited to call 2-4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019, at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 18, at the Union Church, Northeast Harbor. Private interment will be at Seal Harbor Cemetery.
